Business information: We’re a family-owned and operated company. We are a paving company with offices in both Calgary and Winnipeg, we’ve done asphalt of every variety from residential to industrial sites.
Business Location: 100, 410 Stafford Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2L2.
Work Location: Various locations requiring paving work within Alberta.
Type of Employment: Full Time – Seasonal / 6-month contract
Estimated Start Date: May 1st, 2020
Job Description
• Load, unload and transport construction materials
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
• Mix, pour and spread materials
• Assist heavy equipment operators
• Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
• Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
• Level earth to fine grade specifications
• Pave and rake asphalt
• Clean and pile salvaged materials
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites
• Read and interpret blueprint
Requirements
– Education: Some secondary school is required
– Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the field is required.
– Valid Class 5 Driver License is required to travel to different work sites.
– Willing to travel regularly
– Personal suitability: Reliability, Team player
– Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, handling up to 23kg of weight, Overtime required.
– Equipment and Machinery experience in Bobcats, screeds, grinding machine, paver operator, rolling asphalt, torches, and compactor is an asset.
Salary: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, 40-50 hours per week.
Benefits: Overnight accommodation provided when necessary without a cost. Transportation costs are covered if the worker needs to relocate. Vehicle supplied to travel from one work site to another.
Important Information: Work schedule is from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, from Monday to Friday. Flexibility in schedule is required according to the business’ needs.
